PAROWAN, Utah--Ray Fowler Morris, age 97, passed away March 22, 1999 in Cedar City, Utah.

He was born May 8, 1901 in Parowan, Utah to George Durham and Francis Elizabeth Fowler Morris. He married Clarice Rollins January 9, 1924 in Parowan. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple.Ray lived in Parowan all his active life. He was a member of the first graduating class of Parowan High School. Ray was an active member of the community and the LDS Church. He and his wife served as workers in the St. George Temple for many years. He owned and operated a farm in Parowan comprised of a few milk cows and range cattle. Ray also grew hay and grain. He taught his sons the value of hard work and honesty as they worked by his side on the farm.

Ray is survived by four sons, Boyd R. (Fonya) of Idaho Falls, ID, Lyle R. (Verona) of St. George, UT, J. Clair (Suzanne) of Cedar City, UT, and George D. (Elona) of Pleasant View, UT; 19 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; and 26 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is Ray's brother, Carl, of Parowan. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, one brother, five sisters, and one great granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 26, 1999 at 11 a.m. in the Parowan First Ward Church. Friends may call Thursday, March 25, 1999 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and Friday morning, prior to services, 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Southern Utah Mortuary in Parowan, Utah. Interment will be at the Parowan Cemetery.
