Demosthenes (Jim) G. Hadges passed away on March 21, 1999 in Rancho Mirage, California.

Demosthenes was born in Megara, Greece on June 26, 1904 to George Thomas Hadges and Vasiliki Zacharia. He immigrated to the United States in 1914 and settled in Bingham Canyon, Utah. Demosthenes, known to his friends as "Jim", graduated from Bingham High School and later studied at the Colorado School of Mines. He received his diploma in 1956 as a certified member in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.The family left Bingham Canyon in 1937 and settled in Rosemead, California where he worked for United States Steel Company. Five years later he began working for Douglas Aircraft (McDonnell Douglas) as Engineer Specialist for Missiles and Space, until his retirement in July 1969. In 1972, Jim and his brother, Thomas settled in Palm Desert, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Andrew and Thomas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 26, 1999 at Holy Trinity Cathedral, 279 South 300 West in Salt Lake City. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. with a Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East First South, Salt Lake City. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery.
