SPANISH FORK -- City officials have named Clyde Johnson as the new fire chief.

Johnson replaces Lloyd Miller, an 11-year veteran of the post. Miller resigned as chief but remains with the fire department.Mayor Dale Barney asked the council if it should limit the chief's term to five or six years, but City Manager Dave Oyler said a city ordinance already limits appointed positions to run concurrently with the mayor's four-year term.

However, appointees can be removed by the mayor and City Council.
