Violet Forbes Amundsen, age 81, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 23, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born May 28, 1917 in Layton, Utah to John William and Ethel Webster Forbes. Married Horace W. Amundsen December 21, 1940 in Kaysville, Utah. Later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDSTemple.
Violet will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her family. She was always concerned about others and spent many hours helping family, friends, and neighbors. As an active member of the LDS Church she served in many different capacities in the wards she resided in, particularly the primary because she loved little children and they loved her.
Survived by her son, Jim (Sherry); daughters, Diane (Roger) Oliphant, Betty (Kent) Wright, Karen (Clark) Wood, Debby (John) Hille; 23 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donald. Preceded in death by her husband and sister Mary Knox.
Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, March 26, 1999 at the Valley View 5th Ward, 2245 East 3900 South. Family and friends may call at the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive on Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
