Laura Gierisch, age 22, passed away March 24, 1999 after valiantly fighting a two year battle against Leukemia.

She was born January 5, 1977 in Houston, Texas to Ronald Allan Gierisch and Frances Kaye Prince. Laura's interests were many and varied. She loved to dance, sing, and play the piano. Through the years she developed a love of the outdoors where she enjoyed fishing and camping. She was a devoted Utah Jazz fan. Laura also enjoyed making arts and crafts. Her dream was to become an animal trainer, specifically chimpanzees.Above all, Laura was an example of unconditional love. She especially loved little children and they loved her. she was a faithful memver of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and fulfilled her callings despite her disabilities. Laura faced her illness with a peace that only comes from personally knowing the Savior.

Laura is now reunited with her father, who preceded her in death on July 16, 1985. Those of us who tarry here for a while will always remember Laura and how she profoundly changed our lives.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Parents: Frances and K.J. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on March 26, 1999 at the Orem Utah Northridge Stake Center, 1674 North 200 West, Orem. A Viewing will be held Thursday, March 25, 1999 at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State, Orem, Utah from 7 to 9 p.m. and also one hour before the Service at the Ward Chapel. Interment will be at the Valley View Memorial Cemetery, West Valley City, following the Funeral Service.
