Singer/songwriter Greg Brown will return to Salt Lake City for a concert in Kingsbury Hall on Saturday, March 27. The music will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets are on sale for $15.50 in advance at the Kingsbury Hall ticket office and selected ArtTix outlets. They can also be purchased by calling 1-801-355-ARTS (2787) or 1-888-451-2787.Tickets will be available at the door for $18.50. The concert will open with Kelly Joe Phelps.
Brown was raised in a musical family. His father was a Pentecostal preacher. His mother played the guitar. His granddad played the banjo and his grandma was a poet.
Brown first sang professionally at 18 in New York City. He has since lived and played in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and then moved to Iowa, where he lives with his wife.
He's appeared on Garrison Keillor's "A Prairie Home Companion," and artists like Willie Nelson, Shawn Colvin, Carlos Santana, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Michael Jackson have covered his songs.
