HELSINKI, Finland (AP) -- Michael Weiss didn't get one of the seven quads landed in a record-setting jumping performance. He did get a bronze medal at the World Figure Skating Championships.

With seven skaters completing four-revolution jumps Thursday night, Alexei Yagudin used the quad to create difference between him and Yevgeny Plushenko.American champ Weiss got a bronze medal behind them.

Meanwhile, Michelle Kwan, feeling healthier than early in the week, prepared for today's women's short program.

Yagudin unleashed a flawless quad, landing firmly with flair. Then he knocked off an array of triples, including two triple-triple combinations. Plushenko missed his quad when he needed it most, although he did eight triples.
