Lloyd Alfred Ford, age 73 of Provo, died March 24, 1999 at his home after a prolonged battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 2, 1925 in Glendale, California to Lloyd and Maude Mary Kirkpatrick Ford. He married AnnaLee Baird, Oct. 10, 1946 in Provo. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple Aug. 22, 1948. Lloyd was retired after 34 years as a steelworker at U.S. Steel, Geneva Works. He also was a self-employed rancher. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II.He served as Scoutmaster for 15 years, coached little league baseball, served in many church positions and had been an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple. He was known statewide for his involvement in quarter horse activities.

Survived by his wife of Provo; four children, Carolyn Olsen, Sandy; Jon Kirkpatrick (Barbara) Ford, Mission Viejo, CA.; Alan Brent (Nichole) Ford, Salt Lake City; LaNae (Chad) Callahan, Provo; 15 grandchildren; two brothers, Lyle (JoAnne) Ford, Salt Lake City; Elden (Lorna) Ford, Orem. Preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Olsen.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 29, 1999 at 12 noon in the Pleasant View Third Ward LDS Chapel, 650 Stadium Ave., Provo. Friends may call at the church Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to the services. Interment, East Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Wing Mortuary, Lehi.
