Morris H. Blackett, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away March 24, 1999, at Alta View Hospital.

Born March 17, 1918 in Scipio, Utah to Robert and Augusta Blackett. Morris grew up in Utah and loved horses and was a sheep herdsman in Utah and Idaho. He served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Married Maxine North on April 3, 1943, sealed December 11, 1965, in the Los Angeles Temple. He had two daughters, Sue and Marilyn. Morris lived in Southern California for many years and was employed at the University of Southern California. He retired in 1968 and moved back to Utah to be close to his children, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, Robert Blackett, mother, Augusta Blackett. Also his two best friends and brothers, Mont and Clead Blackett, two half brothers, Neldon, and Lamar Blackett.Survived by wife, Maxine Blackett, Sandy, Utah; daughters, Sue Sanders,Sandy, Utah, and Marilyn McKeon, South Jordan, Utah; sister, Bernice Judd, Cherry Valley, California; half sisters, Vivian Searle, and Shirleen Irvine, West Valley, Utah.

Funeral services Saturday, March 27th, 12 noon, Willow Canyon 6th Ward, 9636 South 1700 East, Sandy. Friends and family may call at the Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary, 10600 South 1700 East, Sandy, on Friday 6-8 p.m. and at the ward on Saturday one hour prior to the services. Interment Lakehills Memorial Park, Sandy.
