Scores of Holy Week and Easter activities and services have been scheduled along the Wasatch Front. Three interfaith services are being offered, along with individual congregation activities. They include:
Annual Good Friday Procession on Friday, April 2, forming outside the First Presbyterian Church, 12 C Street, prior to 7 p.m. The procession will stop at several downtown churches for prayer, scripture readings and song before concluding at the Cathedral of the Madeleine, 331 E. South Temple.A youth program will begin at 6 p.m. at the cathedral, including a brief dinner and other activities. Each youth group is asked to bring a pot of meatless soup to share. Rolls and drinks will be provided.
Ninth Annual Salt Lake City Easter Sunrise Service, to be held April 4 at 8 a.m. on the hillside directly south of Lake Terrace at Sugarhouse Park. This nondenominational service will feature performances by local Christian musicians, sermons and singing. Free hot coffee and cocoa will be served.
Family Sunrise Service at Snowbird's Hidden Peak at 6:45 a.m. on Sunday, April 4. The first tram departs at 5:30 a.m., with the last at 6:45 a.m. Tram rides are free. Complimentary hot chocolate and coffee will be served, and participants should dress in winter clothing. The interfaith service will feature the Skyline High School Madrigals in addition to Christian worship.
A free children's Easter egg hunt will also be hosted on the plaza deck at 9 a.m., following the service, for children ages toddler to 11.
