OAK BROOK, Ill. -- Furby and fries, please.

McDonald's on Friday launched a Happy Meal promotion featuring one of the hottest toy sellers during last year's holiday season -- Furby -- hoping to enjoy the same success it has had with Teenie Beanie Baby promotions.Customers buying a children's meal will get one of 80 different varieties of Furby, an odd-looking creature that will either blink, wiggle its ears, growl or move its feet. Unlike the larger versions manufactured by Tiger Electronics, however, the McDonald's toy is not electronic and does not speak.

At a restaurant in Los Angeles, Roberta Berne hoped her two children would like it.

"It does look a little silly," she said.

McDonald's said it has ordered tens of millions of the creatures for the promotion, which lasts through April 22.
