VERNAL -- A federal indictment has been handed up for a 28-year-old Randlett, Uintah County, woman who allegedly stabbed her 9-year-old daughter at their home last week.

A grand jury found sufficient evidence to find that Zelleen Cesspooch Suarez "did assault with intent to murder another person, A.C., a child, by stabbing her with a knife," in violation of federal codes, according to court records. The victim survived the attack, which "resulted in substantial bodily injury," the indictment states.Suarez, a member of the Ute Indian Tribe, was arrested and incarcerated in the Fort Duchesne jail. She appeared Thursday before a federal magistrate in Salt Lake City and was remanded to the custody of federal marshals.
