John Parry Loveless, 82, Midvale, Utah, passed away March 25, 1999 in a local hospital after a sudden heart attack.
Jack was born April 12, 1916 in Payson, Utah, the oldest son of Owen Parry Loveless and Virginia Harryman. Married Anna Dale Evans on Aug. 25, 1938 in the Salt Lake Temple. Attended local schools in Payson, and was active in community affairs. Member, Payson Fire Dept., and was Fire Chief in 1947. Instrumental in organizing Junior Chamber of Commerce, receiving Distinguished Service Award Key for his varied services. Elected Chairman of Utah County Republican Party, member of Payson Lions Club, and Cocklebur Riding Club. Moved to Ogden where he was branch manager of Intermountain Farmers Association. Later became vice-president. Received numerous awards and citations for his devoted work to the field of agriculture. Retired after 53 years at IFA. Lifelong member of the LDS Church, serving in various positions: Bishop of Union 3rd Ward; Stake Presidency, Fort Union Stake; Stake High Council, Fort Union Stake; and Physical Facilities Representative until last year. Devoted husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend, who always set a good example. He really loved to golf. Charter member Alpine Country Club and played a good round with his grandson Daren just last week. Above all, Jack enjoyed being with his family as they gathered at the family home in Midvale. He attended all sport activities involving his grandchildren.Survived by his wife of 60 years, Annie; children, Dennis J. Loveless; Vicki Loveless, both of Midvale; Margie (Lee) Guest, Sandy; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Jerry M. Loveless, Long Island, N.Y.; sister, Mabel Christensen, Ogden.
Funeral services Monday, March 29, 1999, at 11 a.m. in the Union Park Sixth Ward Chapel, 8060 South 615 East. Friends may call Sunday 6-8 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, and Monday 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Payson City Cemetery. Jack will be greatly missed, as he was a positive influence on all those who knew him.
