CEMETERY OFFERS A QUIET HIATUS
In a small area amid apartment buildings in downtown Salt Lake City are the graves of President Brigham Young, several members of his family and Eliza R. Snow. The Mormon Pioneer Memorial Monument, "All Is Well," created by Edward J. Fraughton, can be seen in this cemetery plot. Also included here are monuments to Sister Snow and William Clayton, who wrote the well-known LDS hymn, "Come, Come, Ye Saints." Despite being near the hubbub of Salt Lake City, the small cemetery offers a quiet hiatus for visitors.
The cemetery is located on 1st Avenue, about 1 1/2 blocks east of Temple Square. It is among numerous Church sites within two or three blocks of Temple Squarethat are free of charge to visitors. (Please see July 11, 1992, Church News for a map of a walking tour of these sites.)
