Some of the problems of recording the Book of Mormon record include the difficulty of engraving words upon plates (Jacob 4:1); writing on small plates (Jarom 1:14), necessitating the record to be written in reformed Egyptian rather than Hebrew (Morm. 9:32-33); weakness in writing (Ether 12:23); and the "awkwardness of our hands" causing "that we write but little" (Ether 12:24).Source: Book of Mormon
