I am writing in response to the March 7 article on funeral homes titled "An array of choices in arranging funerals."
While the article was an accurate and balanced news story, it quoted the prices of a standard funeral package of three area mortuaries, but did not detail the services included. As a result, the article gave an appearance that Larkin Memorial Corporation is the highest priced funeral home among its competitors.Larkin submits that it provides consumers along the Wasatch Front with the most competitive and fair prices of any funeral home in Utah. By comparing prices to services, customers will find a significant price variance among Utah's funeral homes.
Compared side by side with other funeral homes, Larkin's general package price comes with services typically not included in other packages. Items such as professional musicians, register books, thank you cards, etc., are included in our package, while other funeral homes charge customers extra for these and additional services.
In addition, by offering discounts and substantially reducing the price of caskets, customers often find our final price tag on a funeral to be significantly lower than most area funeral homes.
For more that 100 years, Larkin has been serving residents of Utah with superior quality and service. We encourage all customers to shop and compare prices and services, not just package prices, when arranging a funeral for themselves or family members.
