Classical and dance performances this week:MIKE CHRISTIANSEN will perform Monday, March 29, 7:30 p.m., in the Eccles Conference Center, Utah State University. Head of guitar studies at the university, Christiansen will present an acoustic concert with two acoustic guitar ensembles and one electric guitar ensemble. The program will include funk, jazz and classical pieces. Tickets are $2 at the door.
DRAPER SYMPHONY & CHORUS will perform in Draper City Hall on Monday, March 29, 7:30 p.m. The program will include works from Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov and Beethoven. Admission is $4.
RHODA VAUN YOUNG will present a piano concert Tuesday, March 30, 7 p.m., in the Provo Tabernacle. Vaun Young has performed with the Utah Valley Symphony, in the Park City International Music Festival, the Steinway Series, the Nova Series, at the Scera Shell and in Utah Valley State College summer concerts. This performace is free.
BRIGHAM YOUNG UNVIERSITY WIND SYMPHONY BAND, will present a free concert Wednesday, March 31, in the de Jong Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m.
JAMES DRAKE will perform an organ reciatal Wednesday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m., in the Kent Concert Hall, USU. Recently returned from an organ festival in London, Drake will present a variety of organ works, incuding "Fanfare and Gothic March" by Guy Weitz and three Bach selections. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.
JUNCTION JAZZ NIGHT AT THE SKYROOM will take place Wednesday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m. in the Skyroom at the Weber State University Shepherd Union Building. The featured musicians are faculty members Lars Yorgason, string bass; Laurisa Ward, keyboard; and student Kenji Aihara, guitar. Refreshments will be served prior to the event. This concert is free.
GINNY TIU will present a benefit concert Wednesday, March 31, 7 p.m., in the Viewmont High School auditorium. Proceeds will go to the Davis County Women's Shelter. Tiu has performed in Carnegie Hall, at the White House for Presidents Kennedy and Bush, and in Buckingham Palace. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children under 12, and are available at Carr's Stationery in Bountiful, Red Rock Candles and Gifts in Farmington and Spanky's in both Bountiful and Farmington.
BYU BRASS CHOIR will perform Thursday, April 1, 7:30 p.m., in the Madsen Recital Hall. The choir will feature works by Copland and Sebelius. The concert is free.

UNIVERSITY OF UTAH PERFORMING DANCE COMPANY will present a dance concert Thursday-Saturday, April 1-3, in the Marriott Center for Dance at 7:30 p.m. The company will be dancing choreographed works by Lar Lubovitch, Molissa Fenley, Scott Koester and Doug Varone. Tickets are $7 for general admission and $4 for students and faculty.
THE STRING ORCHESTRA OF NEW YORK CITY will perform Friday, April 2, 7:30 p.m., in the Sundance Rehearsal Hall at the Sundance resort. This 22-piece orchestra has members from Russia, China, Honduras, Japan, Kazakhstan and North America. All SONYC concerts are performed without a conductor.
