Musicians Art Jackson, left, Eddie Saunders, Bobby Watson and Ahmad Alaadeen take part in a gathering in Kansas City, Mo., Saturday to celebrate the unveiling of the Charlie Parker Memorial in the city's historic jazz district. Jackson, Saunders and Alaadeen were among several musicians who participated in a 21-saxophone salute to Parker, whose instrument was the alto saxophone. Parker, who died in 1955 at age 35, was the most important of the founders of the jazz style called bebop.
