The Clinton administration is in deep trouble again, as we have learned over the past two weeks of the worst security breach in our history. All the experts as well as the CIA agree the Chinese have penetrated our nuclear secrets. Our national defenses have been set back 25 years, according to one expert. Could it be that the attack on Kosovo is timed to take the administration's troubles off of the front page?
Are we really going to get involved in a civil war there? Why in Kosovo, and why now? Where were the U.N. and all the liberals as the Cambodian Communists slaughtered more than 1 million people? Where were they when more than l million people were killed in central Africa in tribal fighting in the '90s? Where were they for the past 30 years when tens of thousands of Mayan Indians were killed in a civil war in Guatemala?The timing is suspect in my opinion. We must be crazy to follow this president into battle knowing of his flawed character and his constant lying. This president who during the Vietnam War -- a well-defined conflict between the Communists and the free people of that country -- dodged the draft, refused to fight and, in fact, was in the Communist block during that time protesting U.S. actions, is now going to send our sons and daughters to fight in a civil war, where there is no plan, no consensus from the people and no plan to get us out. A war which he himself would have protested 25 years ago.
I will send my son to Canada and protest in the streets before I follow this president into the mess in the former Yugoslavia. His actions are highly suspect.
