DETROIT -- Wendel Clark scored 2:26 into overtime, lifting the Detroit Red Wings to a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday.
Clark poked a loose puck in the crease past Flyers goalie John Vanbiesbrouck. There was a lengthy video review after the goal, but it counted to give the Red Wings their third straight win since a 5-4 loss March 21 at Philadelphia.Clark's goal was his 30th of the season and second with Detroit since the Red Wings acquired him in a Tuesday trade with Tampa Bay.
The loss ended a three-game winning streak for the Flyers, who played without all-star center Eric Lindros. He was suspended for two games by the NHL for a high-sticking incident Saturday with Petr Nedved of the New York Rangers.
Lindros will also miss the Flyers' home game Tuesday against Carolina and can return Thursday at Nashville.
Vyacheslav Kozlov scored Detroit's other two goals. Mikael Renberg and Keith Jones scored for the Flyers, both in the third period.
Both goalies were superb as Detroit's Chris Osgood stopped 24 shots and Vanbiesbrouck 28.
HURRICANES 3, LIGHTNING 3: At Greensboro, N.C., Ron Francis scored once and had an assist, helping the struggling Carolina Hurricanes to a tie.
The Southeast Division-leading Hurricanes came in with only one victory in their previous five games, trimming their lead over Florida to five points with nine games left in the regular season.
SABRES 4, PENGUINS 3: At Buffalo, N.Y., Dixon Ward scored the fourth overtime goal of his career after Buffalo Sabres rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the third period.
Ward's decisive goal -- against Jean-Sebastien Aubin at 2:27 -- was his 17th this season. Assists went to Vaclav Varada and Michael Peca.
OILERS 5, SHARKS 2: At Edmonton, Alberta, Bill Guerin scored twice in the third period to reach a career high of 30 goals as the Edmonton Oilers beat the San Jose Sharks.
Chad Kilger, Mike Grier and Pat Falloon, with an empty netter, also scored for the Oilers. Joe Murphy and Jeff Friesen scored third period, power-play goals for the Sharks.
BLACKHAWKS 3, BLUES 1: At Chicago, Tony Amonte scored three goals, including his 40th, to power the Chicago Blackhawks over the St. Louis Blues.
It was Amonte's second hat trick of the season and sixth of his career. It also marked the second time he has scored at least 40 goals in a season.
AVALANCHE 7, KINGS 2: At Denver, Patrick Roy tied Hall of Famer Glenn Hall for fourth place on the all-time regular-season winning list with his 407th, making 26 saves as the Colorado Avalanche beat the Los Angeles Kings.
Only Terry Sawchuk (447), Jacques Plante (434) and Tony Esposito (423) have more regular-season wins than Plante and Roy (407-240-94). The win was Roy's 506th overall combining regular season and playoff wins, one more than Plante.
