The bandit made away with $1,200 from the First Security Bank and $2,000 from Zions, according to court documents.

Fairchild became the prime suspect after police received several tips from Cache Valley residents who had seen a surveillance camera photo in The Herald Journal newspaper and other media.

He and his wife apparently had taken a Greyhound bus to White Haven, where he was arrested at his father's home.

The judge declined to reduce Fairchild's $100,000 bail.
