Easter weekend events will be hosted by Utah's state parks April 3-4. Events will vary depending upon the following individual state park schedule of activities.
Fremont Indian State Park and Museum, near Richfield, will hold a children's Easter egg hunt Saturday at 9 a.m. and a non-denominational Sunday sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. The museum and visitor center are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission for the museum will be $5 per vehicle. Camping is available at the park. For further information, call the park at 435-527-4631.Fort Buenaventura State Park in Ogden will host its annual Spring Mountain Man Rendevous. The competition will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday with shooting events. Other events will include the mountain man run, knife and tomahawk throws and canoe races. Children should bring an Easter basket or a bag and be ready when the candy cannon fires three or four times Saturday and Sunday. A $4 per day per vehicle fee will be charged for attendance. Territorial Statehouse State Park Museum in Fillmore will host an Easter egg hunt, carnival and games for children on Saturday. Construction of the old capitol building was directed by Brigham Young and was later designated Utah's first state park in 1957. For further information, call 435-743-5316.
