Jordanelle State Park managers will begin the 1999 season by opening some campsites and facilities for public use. They are also in search of volunteers and seasonal employees to work at the entrance station and fill maintenance positions.
Hailstone campground is open for limited RV camping and some tent camping in the Murdock and Lower Fisher loops. One rest room is open, but showers and dump station facilities remain winterized. Although the main boat and personal watercraft ramps are open for launching, some ice remains on the reservoir and is extremely unsafe. No one is allowed on the ice.All campsites are reservable through the Utah State Parks and Recreation reservation system. This is a departure from the past few years, when two campgrounds were available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Jordanelle is located 10 miles north of Heber on U-40. Applicants for seasonal employment and volunteer positions may apply in person at Jordanelle State Park, or call (435) 649-9540 for information.
