May Fullmer Nilson, age 91, returned to her Heavenly Father and loved ones on March 27, 1999. She died peacefully of stroke-related complications.

May was born May 26, 1907, in Salt Lake City, the sixth of seven children of James Montgomery Fullmer and Ellen Knight Fullmer. She married Raymond Elmer Nilson on June 27, 1929, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.May will be remembered by her loved ones for her devotion to her family, friends and faith and her desire to serve the Lord. She enjoyed serving in many church capacities in the Relief Society and Primary organizations in the Parleys 1st Ward. During the latter years of her life, May served the Lord by diligently attending the Salt Lake LDS Temple twice a week. Although nearly blind, she independently arrived at the temple using public transportation. Her constant prayers will be missed by her family.

May was preceded in death with the tragic loss of her son, Dale; daughter, Joyce Nilson Gold, son-in-law, C. Harvey Gold; great-grandson, Jacob Gold (son of Christian Gold); and the death of her husband, Ray in 1978.

May was survived by her son, Norman (Marsha) of Moraga, CA; her daughter, Frances of Salt Lake City; her sister, Dorothy (H. Monroe) Selander of Salt Lake City; her grandchildren, Tara Brennan of Palo Alto, CA, Dana (John) Gold Clark of Weston, Connecticut, Christian (Denise) Gold of Roanoke, Virginia, Spencer (Emily) Montgomery Gold of Pepperell, Massachusetts, Jennifer Gold of Los Angeles, CA, N. Todd Nilson of Los Angeles, CA, Christine (Scott) Nilson Jensen of Pleasanton, CA, Katherine (David) Nilson Petersen of Salt Lake City, Jeff Nilson of Moraga, CA; and by seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 1, at 12 noon at the Brickyard Ward Chapel, 1111 East Charlton Ave. (11th East and 2900 South). Friends may visit at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 11 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the services at the Brickyard Ward Chapel. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
