Major Robert B. Hutton, wonderful husband, father and grandfather, passed away March 26, 1999.
He was born June 22, 1924, in El Paso, Texas.As a marine in World War II, he saw duty in the Pacific Theatre. Upon graduating from the University of Utah, he became a career Army officer serving in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was awarded the Silver Star from Gallantry in Action in Korea.
After retiring from the military, he returned to Salt Lake City where he was employed in the family business, May Foundry and Machine Company. Upon leaving May Foundry, he enjoyed reading, traveling and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Elyse; his son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Diane; daughter, Lisa and son-in-law, Kent Burningham; and his three loving grandchildren, Lauren, Easton and Anne; and his brother, Keith A. Barlow.
His sweetness and kind heart will be truly missed.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at Evans & Early Mortuary, 574 East 100 South, between 1 and 1:45 p.m.
