The House gave final approval to SB56 Tuesday, which creates an Office of Consumer Health within the Department of Insurance.
The office will help consumers find their way through the maze of health insurance claims by providing education, information and advocacy for consumers who cannot settle claims with their insurers.Proponents had sought $215,000 to run the office its inaugural year but it received an appropriation of $50,000.
