HEBER -- A Lehi couple were killed Saturday when the car they were riding in rolled off the road near Strawberry Reservoir.

Killed were:Rose C. Hoover, 71, Lehi.

William Ralph Hoover, 75, Lehi.

Rose Hoover was apparently behind the wheel of the couple's Ford Explorer as they traveling east on U-40 about 1:30 p.m.. According to a Utah Highway Patrol report, she failed to navigate a curve in the road and the vehicle drifted to the right. As the car slid off the road, she over-corrected.

The report says the car came back onto the road momentarily, but then drifted right again, rolling and slamming into a fence and gate.

The accident happened about four miles east of Mile Post 54 between Heber and Duchesne, the report states.

The report said both Hoovers were wearing seat belts, and neither was ejected from the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
