OGDEN -- New Weber State University head men's basketball coach, Joe Cravens, has announced that Guy Beach has accepted the position of Associate Head Coach on the WSU men's basketball staff.
Terms of Beach's contract have not been finalized by the WSU administration. That will be completed within the next seven to ten days.Beach and Cravens have both served on the WSU staff as assistants for the past two seasons under coach Ron Abegglen. Beach was a two-year letterman for the Wildcats in 1984-85 under coach Neil McCarthy and 1985-86 under coach Larry Farmer.
Cravens also announced that 6-6 forward Harold Arceneaux and 6-0 guard Eddie Gill will remain in the Wildcat program. Both players had given indications that they would not return next season.
"I am conducting one-on-one interviews with all the players this week," Cravens said. "I talked with Eddie today (Monday) and he said he would come back next season. I am talking with Harold tomorrow (Tuesday), but coach Beach told me today that Harold has indicated he would also be coming back as well."
Cravens now has to fill an assistant coach's position. He said he hoped to have that completed by the end of next week.
