Ogunita Pace Jensen, loved and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away March 3, 1999 in a local hospital at age 99.
Ogunita was born Aug. 22, 1899 in Loa, Utah, a daughter of Wilford Woodruff and Eliza May Blackburn Pace. She spent her early years happily in the mountains and ranges of her beloved Wayne County. On June 7, 1920, she married Earon Alonzo Jensen in Junction, Utah. He preceded her in death May 8, 1982. They had one daughter, Betty Lou, born in Salt Lake City. She lived in several cities in Utah and Nevada and finally settled in Crescent, Utah. She lived a very active and productive life pursuing interests in gardening and numerous social activities. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, American Legion Auxiliary, Midvale Ladies Club and an active member of the LDS Church. Perhaps her most enduring occupation was that of an always loving, caring and understanding grandmother. She will always be remembered fondly by those who benefited from her acquaintance.She is survived by daughter, Betty Lou Fairbourn; grandchildren, Juanita Fairbourn, Earon Fairbourn, and Jim (Debbie) Fairbourn; great-grandchildren, Michael and Andrea Fairbourn; Richard Rathke and Michelle Fahey; Alison, Emily, and James (Jr.) Fairbourn; and great-great-grandson, Dillon Fahey.
Funeral services Saturday, March 6, 1999, at 1:30 p.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
