BRIGHAM CITY, Utah--Lynn Tibbitts Major, 64, died on March 1, 1999 at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City due to complications from a lung transplant five years earlier.

He was born October 22, 1934 in Providence, Utah, a son of Ray Warner and Venice Tibbitts Major. Lynn married Elaine Miller on September 5, 1958 in Hyrum, Utah. They were sealed in the Ogden Temple on November 1, 1994. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was serving as Executive Secretary in the Bishopric, and had been involved in the scouting program.Lynn enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. His greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, grandchildren and all of his nieces and nephews.

He was employed as a supervisor for AT&T until his retirement. He had also been employed by Acu-Tel.

Lynn is survived by his wife of Brigham; two daughters, Sherrie and Dave Nelson, Portland, OR; and Shelly and Clay Searle, Roy, UT; five grandchildren, two brothers, David Major, Salt Lake City, UT; and Ken Major, Millville, UT; two sisters, Janice Keif, St. George, UT; and Catherine Jones, Wellsville, UT. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 6, 1999 at the First LDS Ward Chapel, 236 East 100 South, Brigham, at 12 noon. Friends may call Friday at Petersen Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham, from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the ward chapel from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Primary Children's Medical Center, 100 North Medical Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84113.
