Milan Paul Niksich, our beloved father, grandfather, and brother, age 66, passed away on March 6, 1999 at his home with family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born January 7, 1933 in Bingham Canyon, Utah, son of Pete A. Niksich and Phyllis Bullett Niksich. He married Donna Jean Dumas February 26, 1961. Milan graduated from Bingham High School and served in the Army, in Korea and Okinawa, during the Korean Conflict. After returning home, he worked 36 dedicated years at Kennecott Copper Corp. Milan was a quiet, hard-working person who loved sports, enjoyed working in his flower gardens, and spent countless hours tinkering with many "treasures" in his garage. He loved animals, especially the many dogs he raised over the years. Milan dedicated much of his life to helping others, especially his family, and his door was always open to those in need.Survived by his children: son, Allen (Wendy) Niksich; daughters, Kelly Parry (Bruce); Lois Gutierrez (Juan); and Rhonda Warnick (Dave); sisters, Tillie Brixey (Glen) and Mary Ann Niksich; brother, Pete Niksich (Annette); nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, Donna Jean; his parents; and sister, Barbara Ann.
Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, Tuesday, March 9th, from 6-8 p.m. Interment at Midvale City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Humane Society.
