Demetrius Tyrone Cosby, born to Pamela Cosby and father, Donald James on March 13, 1969, died at the age of 30 from gun shot wounds. Robert Costy adopted Demetrius Cosby as a newborn. He was raised at Faith Temple Pentecostal Church, of Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Rosemary Cosby - Overseer and founder and her four children, Pamela, Rosalind, Ernest and Debbie, started the church in 1961. Mama and her four children, walked the highways on the cold days of January.

Demetrius was baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost at an early age, and was also the director of the Junior Choir of Faith Temple Church at six years old. He attended Roland Hall School and Alta High School in Salt Lake city, Utah. His parents were called to a mission in Indianapolis, Indiana to establish another Faith Temple Church, and Demetrius, at the age of 13, relocated with Rosemary, known as "Mama", his natural grandmother and Robert C. Cosby, Rosemary's husband. Through adoption, Demetrius became his son.

Demetrius walked away from the church in 1992. He tried to come back after Mama died. (Mama's death affected him.) When he walked away from the church, he wanted to be a superstar. He had the gift of preaching. He had won awards for public speaking and was an honor student in speech in high school and college, but he wanted to be a famous superstar in vocal and failed.

Demetrius attended Park Tudor College Prep School and graduated with honors. He was accepted into Butler University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a genius!
