Obituary: Donna Hess Carrozza

Donna Hess Carrozza passed away in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the Hazen Nursing Home on May 27, 1999. She was 77 years of age.

She was born in Logan, Utah, to Owen and Isabella Hess on March 22, 1922. She attended school in Box Elder County.She is survived by her brother, Owen Hess; sister, Marjorie Pruitt; and her children, Doris (Ken) Lindway, Rex (Linda) Stacy and Henry Wilcox. She has seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was married to France Stacy, Loran Wilcox and Stanley Carrozza. Stan, her parents, and two sisters, Elaine Killian and little "Doris", preceded her in death.

She was a great cook and worked in that capacity at the Dee Hospital, the State Industrial School and the Hazen Nursing Home. She was a member of the LDS Church and loved the time she spent working in the church cannery. She and Stan loved delivering "free commodities" to those who were less fortunate and were always proud of their beautiful yard. Mom continued giving of her time to others, even in the nursing home.

A special thank you to kind neighbor Donna Mix, for your friendship and hard work. And also to Bishops Keith Oborn and Robert Harris for the generosity and kindness you and the LDS Church have shown this sweet lady.

Romaine, thanks for all the love and security you and your staff provided mom. She trusted you all and for that, we will be forever grateful, Doris and Ken. "Mom, now you are truly safe and secure."

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 3, 1999 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Ward Chapel at 1301 South 1200 West, Salt Lake City, Utah. Friends and family may call Thursday, 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Funeral directors, Lindquist's Layton Mortuary. Interment, Fielding Cemetery, Fielding, Utah.
