Driver critical after his vehicle hits a car and school bus

A school bus missed making its rounds Thursday after it was hit head-on by another vehicle on 900 West near 720 North. A northbound blue Ford Taurus crossed the center line of 900 West about 6:40 a.m., first colliding with a black Ford Escort and then veering into the bus, Salt Lake Police Lt. Robert Linton said. Police suspect the driver of the Taurus may have suffered some kind of medical emergency that caused him to lose control of his vehicle, Linton said. He was taken by ambulance to LDS Hospital in critical condition. A student was also transported to LDS Hospital for observation. The bus driver and the driver of the Ford Escort suffered minor injuries.
