Although the MVP following Karl Malone's name stands for Most Valuable Player, it could just as easily stand for Most Valuable Party-thrower based on the shindig he and the Utah Jazz delivered at the Delta Center Thursday. The Mailman, who recently collected his second NBA MVP trophy, told fans he wanted to do something special as payback for their support over the years. Fans responded by showing up en masse to rub shoulders with the Mailman.
Malone shows off his new MVP hardware, left. By some estimates, more than 15,000 fans attended Thursday's bash.
Besides seeing Malone, they also could scope out his memorabilia and auto and cycle collections and generally revel in all things purple, white and teal, including taking tours of the Jazz locker room, shooting hoops on the Delta Center floor and scoring free hot dogs and a drink.
