Obituary: Vera Ethel Hubbard Hoskins

Vera Ethel Hubbard Hoskins died June 10, 1999 in Sandy, UT.

Born December 8, 1912 in Brigham City, UT to William and Mary Powelson Hubbard. She was raised in Brigham and Willard Utah. She married Earl Lynn Hoskins June 5, 1936. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away in November, 1977. She lived her married life in Portage UT, Rock Springs, WY, Malad, ID and Salt Lake City, UT.Vera was devoted to family, church, and teaching. She was so pleased with her precious posterity. She was a school teacher and a member of DUP. She graduated from Box Elder High, Weber State College, and the University of Utah.

She met challenges with courage and fortitude. Her cheerfulness, kindness, generosity, testimony, unselfishness, humor, humility, intellect and morality greatly blessed her children and those close to her. She was an avid learner who loved genealogy, music, art, politics, sports, the Jazz, and shopping for others. She was sweet and appreciative throughout her life.

The family expresses appreciation to Joyce L. Smith, Angie Josip, Sherri Williams of Creative Hospice and Community Nursing, and to Hillcrest 5th Ward for their devoted love and care.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother. She is survived by her children Curtis (Lois), Rosemary, "Susie" (Don), Jean (Byron), Joseph, (Rebecca), 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and sisters Ruth Bodily and Edna Jones.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday June 12, 1999, at Pebble Hills Ward (8735 So. Harvard Park Drive--1060 East). Friends and family may call on Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. for one hour prior to the services.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Creative Hospice and Community Nursing. Interment will be in Portage, UT, after the services. Funeral Directors: Holbrook Mortuary.
