The Art of the Gardener, a biannual event to benefit the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, will be held Saturday, June 19, come rain or shine.
Registration will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Sallie Madison Eccles Sculpture Court inside the museum. Light refreshments will be served during the morning.At 9 a.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium, landscape architect Garr Campbell will present his illustrated lecture on "Gardens of Paradise: Space, Rhythm and Movement." Self-guided tours (you must provide your own transportation) will go from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and include eight of Salt Lake City's most splendid private gardens, rarely open to the public. Maps will be available with registration materials.
The cost is $25 for museum members; $30 for non-members; $20 for the garden tour only. Art of the Gardener raises funds for the education programs conducted by the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, which benefit more than 10,000 children each year. This year's event is made possible by a grant from Nordstrom.
The museum is located on the University of Utah campus at 370 S. 1535 East.
