Obituary: Selma Price Hale

With unfailing loyalty and unselfishness, Selma shared all she had to offer with her family, the aged, the suffering and especially the children. She touched our souls and made us better than we might have been. Selma passed away peacefully in her home on June 11, 1999 surrounded by her family after a long and valiant battle with cancer.

Born December 13, 1921 in Murray, Utah to James Alfred and Annie Dora Price. Married Dorain R. Hale October 8, 1952 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member of LDS church. Stake Missionary, Pres. of Young Women and Primary organizations. Teacher in Sunday School and Primary, visiting teacher, Golden Gleaner Chorus Member with beautiful soprano voice. Cashier for eleven years at Auerbach's Dept. Store.Preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eva Price; and brothers, Nolan and Johnny Price. Survived by husband, Dorain; three children: Sheridan (Dwayne) Hatch, Bradley Price (Lynnette) Hale, Nancy (Blake) LaRoque and stepson, Wayne M. Hale; 12 grandchildren; sister, Ermil Caldwell and twin, Shelba (Ralph D.) Simper. Many extended family members called her "Mom".

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 15, 1999, 11 a.m. at the Murray 12th Ward, 363 E. Vine St. Friends may call Monday 6-8 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So. State St. and Tuesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Murray City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Hospice staff : Ann, Lo and Meg for their assistance and support, along with Dr. Saundra Buys. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Harry Hill for his concern and efforts on her behalf.
