Victor Carl Schmitt, 67, passed away June 10, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Victor was born July 29, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Carl E. and Vera M. Schmitt. Victor served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War. He spent many years in the construction business in the Salt Lake area. He served as a property facilities manager for 14 years, retiring two years ago. Victors ashes will be spread among the beautiful surroundings of Defeas Dude Ranch in the Uinta Mountains, where he spent his free time for many years among his good friends. He was married to Ruby Martinez, later divorced.He is survived by a son, Victor Carl (Nicole) and two grandchildren Skylar, Taylar; two brothers, Neil (Connie) and Dale E. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Carol Hainsworth and Eva; a brother, Lee. The family would like to say a special "Thank You" to the helpful caretakers at the Willowood Care Center during his illness. A special "Thanks" to aide David Kopasz and nurse Cristine Hayes for her "extra effort" and concern for Vic.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 15, 1999, 1 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 255 South 200 East.
