Obituary: Elden ""Edge"" Austin

Fisherman, counselor, and tutor, Elden "Edge" Austin, age 80, passed away June 10, 1999 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Born Sept. 7, 1918 in Bountiful, Utah, to George William and Hazel Beatrice Cook Austin. Married Grace Betty Kugle, on July 7, 1945 in Miami, Florida. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was a member of the LDS Church and served as a temple worker in the Salt Lake Temple. He also served as High Priest group instructor, ward financial clerk, and assistant Scoutmaster.Survivors: wife; children: Betty (William) Simons, Susan (Terry) Kinder, Donald Elden (Jolee) Austin, Paul David (Robin) Austin; 13 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; brothers: John (Bud) Austin, Colorado; Duane Austin, Salt Lake City; and sister, Audrey Stevens, Alabama. Preceded in death by parents; brother, Theron; and great-grandson, Reed Jr.

Funeral services Wed. 11 a.m., June 16, 1999 at the Lincoln Heights Ward, 602 E. 3900 S. Friends many call Tues. 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St. and Wed. one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Larkin Sunset Gardens.
