Obituary: John Copely Frogget

SANDY-John Copely Frogget, 85, passed away Thursday, June 10, 1999.

John was born October 4, 1913 in Center, Kentucky, the son of Willie D. and Inez Hulsey Frogget. At the age of seven his family moved to Utah. He graduated from Davis High School where he received a 4H Club award. On September 21, 1932 he married his sweetheart, Virginia Bingham in the Salt Lake Temple. John was a Union Pacific worker during World War ll. He was a former owner of Copes Conoco. He was also an IBM operator at Hill Air Force Base, then he worked as a computer programmer at Hughes Aircraft and Union Bank until his retirement. John was an active member of the LDS Church serving in many positions including time as a Bishop. John loved playing in the Cope Frogget Band. He also enjoyed bowling and golf.He is survived by his wife, Virginia; one son, Ronald Copely (Marjean) Frogget; one brother, Robert Frogget, Washington State; one sister, Betty Erickson, Clinton, UT; five grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 1999, 11 a.m., Valley 4th Ward, 1140 E. Raddon Dr. (12031 S. 1525 E.) Sandy, Utah, where family and friends may call on Tuesday, June 15, 1999, 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Graveside Dedication will be held at Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah, 2:30 p.m. Funeral arrangements under the direction of Leavitt's Mortuary. Interment, Leavitt's Aultorest Memorial Park.
