Obituary: LeLand Bennion Mackay

Leland Bennion Mackay, age 82, died June 11, 1999 at his home.

Born March 15, 1917 in Taylorsville, a son of Thomas and Hilda Bennion Mackay. Married Hannah Humphreys on August 30, 1939 in Tooele; the marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active member of LDS Church. Retired from Kennecott Copper Corporation. Leland was an avid gardener, fisherman, and hunter who loved carving ducks. He loved his family dearly.Survived by children: Marilyn Sue (Roger) Wilson and Robert D. (Maureen) Mackay; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; sister, Maurine (Parley) Ruston. Preceded in death by infant twins, Gary Leland and Baby Mackay; great-grandson, Bailey; brothers and sister, Raymond, Merrill, Steve, Helen, and Lyman.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, 12 noon, at Salt Lake Jordan Stake Center, 3700 West 4700 South. Friends may call Monday, 6-8 p.m., at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, and Tuesday at the church, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
