Don Frithiof Johnson, age 79, passed away on June 13, 1999 at the LDS Hospital, following a car accident on Friday, June 11, 1999.
He was born Aug. 1 1919 in No. Ogden, UT, to Clarence F. Johnson and Annie Elmira Blaylock. He carried an optimism born out of his faith in the basic goodness of humanity. Don received his Bachelor's and Master's Degree's in Education and Psychology from BYU. He performed psychological services in UT. and AZ. He also taught in junior colleges and adult education programs. He directed the Dan Hinton School for children with learning disabilities. He served an LDS mission in the New England states. He was a great teacher and able to express the challenges of life in books of poetry.He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie Kilgore Johnson; four daughters: Claire Kaufman, Becky Watson, Sylvia Coester, and Sonja Kramer; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers and sisters: Blaylock Johnson, Rene Johnson, Janice Muir, and Ilogene Bergstrom. He was preceded in death by first wife, Doemie Anjewierden and daughter, Gail Tippy, also sisters, Ruth Leatham and Faun Hinkson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 17, 1999 at 1 p.m. at the Eagle Gate Stake Center, 135 A Street. Viewing two hours prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. Funeral directors, Russon Brothers Mortuary.
