Pope resumes travel but cuts out Armenia

STARY SACZ, Poland -- Feeling better Wednesday after a touch of flu, Pope John Paul II greeted hundreds of thousands of relieved faithful, who cheered "Long live the pope!" as he resumed his pilgrimage to Poland.

Still, after canceling all his public appearances and staying in bed Tuesday, the frail, 79-year-old pope decided to drop a last-minute trip to Armenia planned for Friday.About 700,000 people -- including Polish Prime Minister Jerzy Buzek, Hungarian President Arpad Goencz and Slovak Prime Minister Mikulas Dzurinda -- welcomed John Paul in Stary Sacz, a southern tourist center in the mountains outside Krakow.
