Obituary: Eliza (Beth) Jardine Dillingham

Mrs. Eliza (Beth) Jardine Dillingham ,94, passed away on May 31, 1999.

Beth was born May 2, 1905 to James Nathanial Jardine and Eliza Rushforth, in Riverside, Utah, where her family pioneered the settlement. She was raised in Holbrook, Idaho. She married Don Dillingham on July 3, 1934, in the Salt Lake Temple. He passed away January 17, 1967. She lived a flail and dynamic life. In 1942, she opened her own business, becoming the first female food broker west of the Mississippi.Beth was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in the Young Womens organization, on the Sunday School Board, and as a volunteer at the Salt Lake Temple and Church Office Building.

Beth is preceded in death by her son, Dennis. Survived by her son, David, daughters-in-law, Linda and Janet, 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 3, 1999, at the Monument Park 12th and 20th Ward (2795 E. Crestview Drive), at 12 noon. Friends may visit the family Wednesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South and one hour prior to the services at the ward. Interment at Salt Lake City Cemetery.
