ST. GEORGE, UT--James Cheales McCausland, 87, died June 17, 1999 in St. George, UT.
He was born June 13, 1912 in Logan, UT to Charles Arthur and Mabele Diane Cheales McCausland. On August 16, 1941 he married Merle Cummings in Provo, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, Salt Lake City, UT on February 19, 1953.He graduated form Provo High School and attended Utah State University in Logan, UT. He lived in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1952. He served in mutual, ward and stake Sunday schools, and was a member of four bishoprics.
James is survived by his wife: Merle; one son: Robert McCausland of Cody, WY; three daughters: Francine (Max) Christensen of Orem, UT; Linda (Lynn) Walker of Pleasant Grove, UT; and Colleen (Dave) Grimshaw of West Valley, UT; 39 grandchildren and 89 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and one brother: Robert McCausland of Spanaway, Washington. He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: William, John, and Gordon; and one grandson: Robert Nathaniel McCausland.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the Timpanogas 6th Ward Chapel, 400 East 500 North. Visitations will be Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Metcalf Mortuary, 300 West St. George Blvd; Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Timpanogas 6th Ward Chapel; and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary, 673-4221.
