Inmate escapes from Weber jail by hiding in trash bin

OGDEN -- A 42-year-old man escaped from the Weber County Correctional Facility Sunday by hiding in a trash bin, a Weber Country Sheriff's Office release said.

The preliminary investigation suggests Bradley L. Allen climbed into a Dumpster kept inside the jail and when the trash bin was taken outside he made his escape, officials say.Weber County Sheriff Lt. Klint Anderson said Allen, who has a three-inch scar on his right cheek, was still at-large Monday morning.

Allen, described as a white male, 6-foot-1 and 170 pounds, had been working in the correctional facility as part of the inmate kitchen crew.

He was last seen wearing a white jumpsuit and running north of the correctional facility.

Allen was recently convicted of felonies involving theft, operation of a drug lab and assault against a police officer. He was due to be sentenced next month.

Anyone having information about Allen can call the Weber County Correctional Facility at 801-399-8427.
