Obituary: Soni ""Alisa"" Pons Morrill

Soni "Alisa" Pons Morrill died Sunday, June 20, 1999, in Dallas, Oregon.

She was born on September 12, 1965 in Salt Lake City, UT, the daughter of Edward and "Soni" Sondra Nielsen Pons. She lived in San Diego, CA, until age six when she moved back to Sandy, UT. Graduated from Brighton High School and received her Associates Degree in Secretarial Studies at Snow College in Ephraim, UT. Served a mission with the LDS Church in Minneapolis, MN in 1986. Married Dr. Weston K. "Rusty" Morrill on September 6, 1991 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Moved to Dallas, OR, from Portland in 1993. Member of the LDS 2nd Ward in Dallas, OR, and was very active in the church working in the Relief Society, served as Secretary, Counselor and Primary Teacher and was a leader in Cub Scouts and Webelos. She enjoyed cross-stitching and making scrapbooks for her children.Survived by her husband, Dr. Weston K. "Rusty" Morrill; son, Ryan, and daughter, Jessica, Dallas, OR; brothers: Randy, Bryan, and Curtis Pons of UT; brother, Darrin Pons, serving a mission in Tulsa, OK; sister, Denise Pons, serving a mission in Peoria, IL; mother, Soni Pons of Sandy, UT; father, Edward Pons of West Valley, UT; grandmother, Lois Nielsen of Salt Lake City, UT; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 1999 in the Dallas, Oregon 2nd Ward. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. in the Bollman Funeral Home, 694 Main Street, Dallas, OR 97338. Interment in the Dallas Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Alisa Morrill Education Trust Fund for her children, Ryan and Jessica, in care of the funeral home.
