A portion of the wing of a twin engine plane ended up in the intersection of Parthenia Street and Hayvenhurst Avenue in the Van Nuys section northwest of downtown Los Angeles Wednesday. The plane had crash landed at the busy intersection and barreled between two approaching school buses, one carrying 42 children and the other six. The impact ripped the fuel tanks from the plane but caused only minor injuries. The pilot climbed uninjured from the plane, one bus driver was in fair condition at a hospital and a child was treated at the scene for minor injuries. "It was truly a miracle," fire department spokesman Brian Humphrey said. Firefighters passed out soft drinks to the youngsters as they sat waiting on curbs.
