Obituary: Joseph C. Brinkerhoff Waters

Born November 20, 1923 in Lovell, Wyoming to Warren and Josephine Clark Brinkerhoff, died June 9, 1999, in Apache Junction, Arizona, from complications stemming from hip fracture.

Joe was a retired Naval veteran of 31 years. He served from 1940 through World War II, Korean and Vietnam wars. He became the youngest Chief Petty Officer in the Navy at age 21.Survived by his wife Ruth Holladay Waters, Apache Junction, five daughters: Merry Jo Cook, Michelle Tabish, Janelle Vigil, JoEllin Dahlin and Julianne Fitzgerald and their spouses; 21 grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, four sisters: Myrtle Meachem, Arlene Collins, Glenda Asay and Karen Simonsen and four brothers: Gearold, Floyd, Arnold and Kendell Brinkerhoff; and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, five sisters and six brothers and one step-sister.

Friends and loved ones are invited to a memorial service to celebrate Joe's life to be held Saturday, June 26, 1999 at 1 p.m. at the LDS chapel, 2065 East 4675 South. Final resting place beside the mother he never knew in Lovell, Wyoming.
